District Two Race Wide Open

West Point, CA — Calaveras County Supervisor Steve Wilensky will not seek re-election next year.

“I am keeping my word to family and friends, and will limit it to two terms,” says Wilensky. “I’ve completed virtually all the projects and goals that we set in the first election. We had a platform of about 45 specific goals. I’m at number 41 and plan to finish the rest by the end of the term.”

Wilensky, who represents District Two, notes accomplishments like diversifying the forest economy in his district, increasing the number of community service centers, running community cleanup events and renovating community halls.

Wilensky adds that his decision was helped by the fact that he recently turned sixty years old and will soon become a Grandfather.

The decision will create a wide open race for the District two seat in 2012. The district includes Mokelumne Hill, Paloma, West Point, Wilseyville, Glencoe/Rail Road Flat, Sheep Ranch and Mountain Ranch.
