Clinics Pot Raid Update

Sonora, CA– Nine Tuolumne County residents remain in custody today following a shutdown of three medicinal marijuana collectives.

The arrests were made following a multi-agency investigation over the past few months in Sonora and Chinese Camp.

According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, the collectives, Foothill Care Inc. on Mono Way, Today’s Health Collective on Via Este and Alternate Natural Solutions in Chinese Camp were allegedly selling marijuana for profit rather than collectively cultivating marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Sgt. Craig Davis of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team said, “We executed 17 search warrants today at numerous locations including banks. We seized approximately $119,000 in funds from those accounts and businesses. We arrested nine people on charges stemming from cultivation, possession for sales, sales and money laundering. All were from people who were associated with dispensaries.”

Those arrested from Foothill Care Inc. (FCC) include James Willis Brisco, 68, of Sonora, Jason Brisco, 41, of Willow Springs, Renee Lynn Rivera, 40, of Willow Springs, and Rhett Schuller, 39, of Sonora.

Taken into custody from Today’s Health Collective were Sara Herrin, 55, of Tuolumne, Danny Herrin, 27, of Tuolumne, Jana Evans, 58, of Tuolumne and Nancy June Smith, 57, also from Tuolumne.

Sarah Marie Jacobs, 28, of Twain Harte was arrested from Alternate Natural Solutions in Chinese Camp.

Sgt. Craig Davis of TNT says the investigation will continue. “The State Board of Equalization was there with us and were a great asset,” said Davis. “They brought six people to pour over records and to look at different tax avenues. Not only are these suspects going to be facing criminal charges here, they’re also going to be looking at some issues with the state as well.”
