Motherlode Roundup Weather Forecast

A change in the weather pattern will bring colder temperatures and showers to the region by Mother’s Day (Sunday).


Eileen Javora of KCRA 3 was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.


According to Javora and the National Weather Service, the chance of rain will not occur until at least late Saturday night.


Cold unstable air will move through the region on Sunday, bringing much cooler temperatures and the chance of rain showers and even isolated thunderstorms.


In the Sierra Nevada, snow levels could fall below 6000 feet by Sunday night. Several inches of snow is expected at 6000 feet and above.


The small chance of rain could linger through Monday.


Javora and Mark Truppner of KVML radio will announce the parade together on Saturday morning, beginning at 10am from their vantage point at Washington and Gold Street. Big Joe and Bridgette of KKBN 93.5 FM will announce the parade from their elevated position, near the Radiator Doctor. Justin and Maryann of Star 92.7 FM will annouce the parade by the VFW Hall (across from Courthouse Park).


The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
