Angels Camp Exploring Options

Angels Camp, CA — The Angels Camp City Council has decided not to renew the contract of Interim City Manager Dave Richards.

The vote yesterday was 5-0. Richards will remain the Interim City Manager until May 17.
The City has released an official statement reading, “The Council will review the City’s ordinances, salary studies and a number of options that will offer the best possible level of service the City can afford considering the economic conditions.”

In January the council also ended its relationship with City Administrator Tim Shearer after the two sides could not come together on a contract agreement. Shearer had just returned from a 15 month military leave of absence. At the time, the City was facing a deficit of approximately $400K.
