Caltrans Approves Chamber’s Request

Sonora, CA — Motorists will soon be reminded that there are lodging and eating options in Sonora.

The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to Caltrans requesting that signs with logos for food and lodging be placed along Highway 108 at the Washington Street intersection and on Highway 108 at the off ramp to Mono Way.

Chamber CEO and President George Segarini has received a letter back from Caltrans stating that their request has been approved. Segarini says it is good news for Sonora businesses, and notes that signs are especially important for helping tourists know that lodging and dining options exist. Signs will be placed in both the east and westbound directions at those two locations.

The signs should be installed in about four months.
