Sonora, CA — A Murphys teen was arrested in Sonora on charges related to the sale of drugs.

Sonora Police Chief Mark Stinson says that 19-year-old Arnold Tinoco was pulled over for speeding late Wednesday night on Greenley Road. The officer noticed strong odor of fresh marijuana, and watched a passenger trying to hide something inside the vehicle. The officer investigated and found 60 grams of marijuana packaged in different quantities.

Tinoco faces felony charges of possession of marijuana for sale, furnishing marijuana to a minor and transporting over an ounce of marijuana. The unidentified passenger is a 17-year-old from Angels Camp.
