Students Collect Food

San Andreas, CA – 941 pounds of food was recently donated to the Resource Connection Food Bank in San Andreas.

A food drive was held by all schools in the Calaveras Unified School District, and the students dropped off the much needed food and supplies this week. “We are so grateful for the quality and amount of food brought in by the students,” says Jeannie Hayward, Resource Connection Program Director. “This really helps with our food distribution to those in our community needing safety net food and services during this down economic time we are still encountering.”

Last month, Resource Connection supplied food to over 2,100 families in Calaveras County. The Resource Connection was established in 1980 and the non-profit group works to meet the needs of children and families in the county.
