Pair Arrested Acting Suspiciously

Jamestown, CA — Two men were arrested after a Sheriff’s deputy noticed them acting suspiciously last night.

The deputy spotted 46-year-old Richard Lewis Bennett of Sonora and 33-year-old Eric Roy of Weed, CA standing next to an SUV with its hood open. The two were in the parking lot of Chicken Ranch Casino in Jamestown. When the men noticed the deputy, they quickly shut the vehicle hood and tried to hide behind the SUV.

The deputy stopped to talk with the men and did a search of the vehicle. Inside he found illegal firearm ammunition and a hypodermic needle. Both were placed under arrest at around 10:30pm and taken to Tuolumne County Jail. Once at the jail, Roy was found to be hiding another needle and a white crystalline substance on him.

They face multiple charges.
