Median Income Drops

Sonora, CA — Median income has been dropping in the state and Mother Lode.


The Franchise Tax Board reports that the median income for all personal income tax returns in California for 2009 was $34,079. It equals a 5.1% decrease from 2008.


Tuolumne County’s median income in 2009 was $30,909, compared to $32,414 in 2008. Calaveras County’s median income in 2009 was $34,421, compared to $37,473 in 2008. Of California’s 58 counties, Tuolumne County’s median income ranked 30th in 2009 and Calaveras County was 21st.
