Columbia Votes Yes

Columbia, CA — Voters in Columbia have approved a new parcel tax for fire protection.

68 percent of voters in the Columbia Fire Protection District were in favor and 32 percent were opposed. 48 percent of registered voters took part in yesterday’s election, which was carried out by mail ballot. Out of the 209 votes, 142 people voted yes and 66 said no.

The parcel tax is $80 per single family dwelling and $40 for a mobile home unit. It replaces a parcel tax for fire protection that expired last June.
