Noon Completion Time

Columbia, CA – T.U.D. crews plan to have the Columbia ditch failure repaired by noon.

“Crews have been working around the clock to get everything prepared for the next storm,” says Lisa Westbrook, T.U.D. Spokesperson. “Right now they are anchoring down the pipe for the 60 ft. section that went out, and they are hoping to get water flowing down the ditch by around noon today.”

Westbrook encourages residents in the Columbia and Big Hill areas to continue water conservation measures through today, because it takes a while for the water to travel down the ditch system and properly restore the storage tanks.

The roughly 80 ft. piece of piping was flown in yesterday by helicopter. For an earlier story with additional pictures, click here.
