Copperopolis, CA — A group of horses were rescued over the weekend from a ranch in Copperopolis.

Pictures of the horses, showing them covered in mud and feces, circulated throughout the community late last week resulting in a call for action. The horses were taken from the Copperopolis Ranch on Beaver Court and are now being helped at the ReHorse Rescue Ranch in Jamestown. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department and Animal Services removed the horses Saturday. The owners will face charges.
