Remains ID’d As Darvis Lee Jr.

Columbia, CA — A piece of a jawbone found over the weekend in the Big Hill area is that of Darvis Lee Jr.

This is according to Sgt. Jeff Wilson of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, who says it was confirmed during an autopsy conducted by an outside expert. Lee had not been seen or heard from since October. The jawbone was found Saturday when around 60 friends and family members conducted a search in the Quail Mine area off Bill Hill Road.

How Lee Jr. actually died is unknown at this time. It is not immediately known if there was foul play involved. A Sheriff’s Office investigation is ongoing.
