2011 Tuolumne County Health Fair Begins Tuesday

The popular Tuolumne County Health Fair is set for Tuesday and Wednesday October 18th and 19th at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.

Sandy Perkins, Tuolumne County Public Health Dept, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newmaker of the Day”.


Perkins expects over 100 booth participants on hand this year.


Free screenings are expected to include hearing, vision/glaucoma, oral screening, chiropractic screening, bone density, body fat analysis, blood pressure, lung function testing and anemia testing.


Blood chemistry testing will be available for $20.


Residents will also have a chance to receive the seasonal flu shot. Medicare will be billed for those who are covered. A good will donation is requested for those not covered under Medicare. The H1N1 vaccine is available and part of the flu shot.


The Health Fair will run from 7am until 3pm both days. Blood testing ONLY will begin at 5am to accommodate work schedules.


The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
