Students Graduating From Fire Program

Columbia, CA — Columbia College will be graduating 14 students from its Fire Technology Program later this week.


Certificates will be awarded on Friday evening at a ceremony beginning at 7pm in the Dogwood Forum. Columbia President Dr. Dennis Gervin will deliver a welcome message, Fire Chief Garrett Contreras from the Hayward Fire Department will give the keynote address, and there will also be a message from CAL Fire Captain Dean Womberley.


The students must still complete six months of full-time or one year of part-time field experience before applying to the state for Firefighter I Certification.


Friday’s ceremony is open to the public.
