Shot Fired During Fight

Don Pedro, CA — A man was arrested in south Tuolumne County after pulling out a handgun and firing a shot.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that 71-year-old James Wesley Kennedy was involved in a fight outside the Don Pedro Mini Market. “The dispute occurred when Kennedy confronted another man whose son was spending time with Kennedy’s granddaughter,” says Sgt. Jeff Wilson, Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson. “Kennedy objected to the relationship and a heated argument began.”

No one was hit by the bullet. Kennedy was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. It happened Sunday afternoon at two o’clock.
