Sierra Winter Storm Watch Begins Sunday Evening

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Sierra Nevada from Sunday evening through late Monday night above 5500 feet.


Half a foot to one foot of snow accumulation is possible above 5500 feet. Lighter accumulations are possible down to around 4500 feet.


Winds of fifteen to twenty-five mph are expected with some gusts reaching forty to eighty mph.


The winter weather will impact the Sierra through Tuesday.


In the Mother Lode, rainfall totals will range from a quarter to a half inch through Monday night.
