Second Arrest, More Items Recovered

Tuolumne County, CA – Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Detectives have made a second arrest in connection with the burglary at George Reed Construction.

35 year old Brian marc Paul Jr. was arrested for his part in the burglary occurring off of O’Byrnes Ferry Road. Detectives also served a search warrant at Paul Jr.’s Copperopolis residence where property taken from George Reed Construction were found and recovered.

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Officials have been investigating the burglary where an employee of WM Murphy on O’Byrnes Ferry Road reported their barbed wire fence had been cut. George Reed Construction, the neighboring business, had a list of items stolen including two business vehicles, one of the vehicles was found at WM Murphy. Other stolen items valued at $10,000 include; welders, a plasma cutter, compressors, various hand tools, and computers.

Parolee Ervie “Scooter” Smith was arrested later on the day of the reported burglary because during a routine check of his residence some of the stolen items were found.

Sheriff’s Officials say most of the stolen property has been returned to the business.
