Commute Slow Down

Sonora, CA — Caltrans reports starting this Monday, September 24 the contractor for the Highway 108 East Sonora Bypass will begin hauling construction across Mono Way. They say this operation is expected to last until late November.

Caltrans says the work is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Motorists should expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Caltrans also reports the Highway 108 Bypass will be completely shut down from the Mono Way turnoff to Standard Road. The closure will be Wednesday, September 26 from 3:30pm until 5pm. Motorists will need to find an alternate route

The work is part of the $52.9 million East Sonora Bypass Stage II project that began in mid-April. It will extend Stage One of the Bypass, which was completed in 2002.
