Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Sierra Nevada later today and tonight.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible with these storms, along with hail, gusty winds and dangerous lightning strikes.
According to the National Weather Service, there will be less thunderstorm activity on Saturday. If there is any activity on the days to follow, it will be confined to the Sierra crest.
