Wanted Man Arrested In Missouri

Sonora, CA — A man that was on the run from Tuolumne County law enforcement for nearly a year has been extradited from Missouri.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that 31-year-old Ruben Gene Williams was booked into Tuolumne County Jail. Sgt. Jeff Wilson says most of the charges stem from alleged crimes that occurred around June of 2011. They include leading officials on a high speed chase on Draper Mine Road, trying to pass fraudulent checks in Twain Harte, and possession of a stolen vehicle. During that time, Williams had reportedly been residing at a home on Oman Drive in the Soulsbyville area.

Williams was arrested in Missouri a few months ago on drug charges, and the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that he has now been extradited back to California. It is unknown when he fled from the region. The Missouri charges were related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
