Truck Driver Injured In Calaveras Rollover

Mokelumne Hill, CA — A big rig truck driver from Southern California was injured in a crash on Sunday morning in Calaveras County.

It happened shortly before 8am on Highway 49 near the Amador County line. The CHP reports that 27-year-old Anthony Perez of Riverside failed to slow down his 2017 Freightliner enough going into a curve and it overturned onto its side and hit a guardrail. Highway 49 was closed between Mokelumne Hill and Jackson for about four hours so that an investigation could be completed and the wreckage removed. Perez was transported to Sutter Amador Medical Center to treat reported “major” injuries.
