12 Day Highway 49 Closure Starts Today

Coulterville, CA — A stretch of Highway 49 in Mariposa County will be closed over the next couple of weeks.

In order to replace three culverts that were damaged by flooding over the winter, both lanes of Highway 49 will be closed between Bear Valley Road and Highway 132 in Coulterville. Detours will be marked, and travelers should be prepared for a one hour delay.

The full closure will run through both the daytime and overnight hours. 24/7. Caltrans has approved a $5-million contract with Access Limited Construction to oversee the work. The closure will run from 7am today through 7pm on Friday, May 10.
