Barker Opens Checkbook To Help Elephants

San Andreas, CA — Three more elephants are headed to the Performing Animals Welfare Society sanctuary in San Andreas.

Former “The Price Is Right” host Bob Barker has donated $880,000 to transport Thika, Iringa and Toka from the Toronto Zoo to Calaveras County. The Associated Press reports that Barker offered the donation when he learned that one of the elephants would not be able to withstand the long trip on a truck. The animals will be boarded onto a private plane.

Barker has donated millions of dollars towards animal welfare efforts, and has been a big donor to major projects at P.A.W.S in San Andreas. P.A.W.S. was founded in 1984.
