Shakeup In Calaveras Supervisors Races

San Andreas, CA — A new candidate has joined the District Four Calaveras Supervisors race, and someone has dropped out in the District Two contest.

Former Angels Camp Mayor Debbie Ponte has announced plans to run in District Four, and will face incumbent Tom Tryon and former Supervisor Russ Thomas.

In District Two, Anita Paque has dropped out of the race. Candidates that are still planning to run include Thomas Patrick Swartz, Bryce Randall, Michael R. Dellorto and Chris Wright. The incumbent, Steve Willensky, is not seeking re-election.

In District One, the candidates that have expressed an interest include incumbent Gary Tofanelli and challengers Clifford William Edson and Joseph Kelly.

Candidates have until today to officially file for candidacy. If the incumbent is not running, such as in District Two, the date is extended to March 14. The election is in June.
