Big Oak Flat Road To Open

Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park plans to re-open Big Oak Flat Road Saturday morning at 8am.

Big Oak Flat Road, which is a continuation of Highway 120, has been closed since a rockslide occurred Sunday evening. Park Ranger Scott Gediman says crews in the park have removed all the debris, so both traffic lanes will be unrestricted.

There is some damage to Big Oak Flat Road, so it currently has a gravel surface in the area of the slide. Motorists are advised to slow down and travel with caution. The road will be temporarily closed for approximately three days next week in order to do some repaving. The days and times have not been decided.
