Sheriff’s Department Adding Deputies

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office swore in a new deputy this week.

Sheriff Gary Kuntz reports that Deputy Caleb Scroggins has joined the staff. Originally from Oregon, he attended Cal State Chico where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He graduated from the Butte College Police Academy last month.

Deputy Scroggins is the fifth new deputy to recently join the Sheriff’s Department. Click here to view an earlier story on other appointments.

Deputy Scroggins has completed a two week orientation program, and now begins a 16 week field training program. He is also currently serving in the Army National Guard.
