Plans For School Bond Spending

Sonora, CA — How will recently approved bond money be spent at Sonora and Summerville High Schools?

This past November voters approved Measure J, a $23 million bond measure for Sonora High School, and Measure H, an $8 million bond for Summerville High. This weekend’s Mother Lode Views will feature Sonora High Superintendent Dr. Mike McCoy and Summerville High Superintendent Dr. John Keiter. The pair will speak about how the money will be spent, and how the projects were selected.

For example, Sonora High plans to make improvements to the Centennial building, student cafeteria, humanities building, and stadium. The school is also looking to construct a new aquatics center.

Summerville High plans to build a new arts building, and make improvements to the agricultural area and the athletic field.
