Tap Hike Talks

San Andreas, CA – The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) announced the proposed rate increases last week, now they are going to give customers a chance to speak out on the proposed jump in rates. The CCWD is urging customers to attend and get all the facts.

The first town hall meeting is Monday, June 10 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Independence Hall Community Center in Arnold at 1445 Blagen Road. The CCWD is in the process of setting up two more meetings that will be held in the Valley Springs and Copperopolis areas.

The increase will take place over five years and affect both residential and commercial customers. Customers could see their bill jump each month by $11 for tap use and $10 for sewer in the first year. That is a total of $21 a month or $252 for the first year.
