Another Mailbox Stolen

Columbia, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Officials report another mailbox has been stolen in Columbia, but this time it was not a blue box in front of the post office. (Click here for an earlier story on that theft.) Instead, it was a large white metal mailbox with 16 keyed boxes for residents on Big Hill Road and Shale Rock Road.

Sgt. Jim Oliver says, “The thieves unscrewed the nuts on the big bolts and took it right off the concrete slab.”

He says the reason for the theft could be to get tax return checks, or person information to steal a person’s identity. If you have any information please call the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department at 209-533-5815.
