Long Chase Ends In Arrest

Sonora, CA — A man was arrested after leading authorities in Tuolumne County on an hour long motorcycle chase.


It started in the City of Sonora limits when a police officer attempted to pull over 31-year-old Kevin Lewis Sovereen for a stop sign violation. A chase proceeded down to Jamestown, then up to Tuolumne City, and eventually ended peacefully at the intersection of Bay Street and Cherry Valley Road. Other agencies involved in the pursuit included the CHP and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office. Sovereen was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills. He was booked into Tuolumne County Jail.


The chase started at 11pm and spanned 32 miles.
