Supervisors To Vote On Apartment Complex

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will decide the fate of an apartment complex proposed off Parrotts Ferry Road.

The proposal by Golden State Holdings calls for six buildings to house 80 units. In addition, there would be a clubhouse, swimming pool, detached vehicle garages, and covered carports. The project would be spread over 5.3 acres at the northwest corner of the intersection of Union Hill Road and Parrotts Ferry Road.

Aspects of the plan failed to gain the endorsement of the Columbia Area Planning Commission last month. It is now being appealed to the Board of Supervisors. The plan needs a General Plan amendment, zoning change and special permits.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9am in the Supervisors meeting room. The Columbia project is scheduled to be debated at 1:30pm. The meeting will be streamed live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
