Saturday Mail Will Continue

Washington, DC — For the time being, the U.S. Postal Service has changed course when it comes to ending Saturday mail delivery.

In February, it was announced that Saturday mail would end this coming August as a way to cut costs. However, the Associated Press reports that Congress has not yet agreed to allow the plan. The U.S. Postal Service’s Board of Governors announced this morning that Congress has passed a spending bill that continues a prohibition against reducing delivery days. The Board indicated that there is no choice but to continue Saturday mail until it is authorized to do otherwise.
