Car Vs. Pole

Valley Springs, CA –There is a car versus pole crash on Highway 12 and the intersection of Double Springs Road near Valley Springs. The CHP reports a Chevy Malibu smashed into a utility pole bringing down two live power lines onto Double Springs Road.

An ambulance and air-ambulance have been called to the scene. Double Springs Road is closed at this time. Motorists will want to use caution in the area. We will bring you updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Update 1:45p.m.: The CHP is revising its initial reports of two power lines down; instead it is telephone lines across Double Springs Road. AT & T has been called to the scene to make repairs. An air-ambulance has taken one person with major injuries to a Sacramento hospital. The CHP says Double Springs Road is now open.
