Police Tracking Thieves Of Locomotive Equipment

Arnold, CA – A locked gate isn’t enough to keep thieves from stealing locomotive restoration equipment from the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum in Arnold. Calaveras County Sheriff’s Officials say thieves cut a lock on a storage unit full of tools on January 18th.

Sgt. Chris Hewitt says, “Several tools were taken including an oxy-acetylene tank and welding equipment. At this time we do not have any suspects. The approximate dollar amount of everything taken was $6,400.”

Hewitt says they do not believe it was an inside job. If you have any information about this crime you can call the Sheriff’s Department at 209.754.6500.
