Update: Weekend Winter Storm Warning

The Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for the Sierra Nevada, through 4 AM Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, several inches of snow are expected this morning into the early afternoon.

Total snow accumulations of one to two feet are expected above the 7,000 foot elevation.

Winds will continue to gust as high as fifty-five mph over the ridge tops and along the crest of the Sierra Nevada.

A Winter Storm Warning means there will be snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Travel is not recommended while the warning is in effect. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
