Rock Slides In Calaveras County

Murphys, CA — As the snow continues to fall in the Murphys area it is creating travel troubles during the evening commute.

Along Highway 4 near Utica Powerhouse Road there are two rock slides, one involves a large boulder, according to the CHP. Both are  blocking the westbound lanes. Officers are directing traffic. No estimated time has been given for when the roadways will completely reopen. The CHP asks motorists to slow down and use caution in the area and if possible avoid it all together.
