Evacuation At Sonora High: False Alarm

Sonora, CA — A fire alarm resulted in Sonora High students being evacuated.

There was much activity at the school earlier this afternoon, and emergency officials on hand, as students were heading out of the building. CAL Fire relays to Clarke Broadcasting that a fire alarm sounded just before 1:30 p.m. by a cafeteria bathroom. All the students and staff were directed to the football to wait for further instructions. Once fire crews arrived on the scene, they surveyed the premises, but determined it was a false alarm. The all clear was given around 1:50p.m. The students were escorted back to class. CAL Fire reports there were no injuries and that crews have now cleared the scene.
