Seasonal Road And Trail Closures In Stanislaus National Forest

Sonora, CA — Effective Sunday, many of the roads and trails in the Stanislaus National Forest will be closed for the winter season.

Spokesperson Diana Fredlund says, “The primary reason is because most of our roads are not maintained for winter, or wet weather use, and they can be very easily damaged. It is then really expensive to repair them.”

Motor vehicle use maps are available at Ranger District offices that detail all of the road and trail closures. More details can also be found here.

The off-limit areas are marked by closed gates and signs in the Stanislaus National Forest. The roads and trails are currently scheduled to reopen on April 14.
