Sonora Man Turns Self In For One Crime, Gets Arrested For Two More

Sonora, CA – A convicted sex offender that gave himself up to Sonora Police for one crime, then ended up being charged for two additional offenses.

Last Friday just before 2 p.m., 35-year-old Aaron Hagerman of Sonora walked into the police department located at 100 S Green Street and turned himself in for failing to register as a sex offender. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s office had issued a warrant for his arrest earlier. Sgt. Tim Wertz explains, “He failed to give us a correct address where he was staying. He gave us and address where he was not located. He wasn’t living at that address.”

Then as Hagerman was being booked into jail, a search of him netted a counterfeit $100 bill and a bag of methamphetamine. He now faces additional charges related to counterfeit money and drugs.
