Update: Logging Truck Incident Blocks Highway 49 In Angels Camp

Update at 11:20am: Highway 49 is back open as the logs have been removed from the roadway.

Update at 10:45am: Caltrans reports that Highway 49 remains closed in Angels Camp near Ramorini Lane. It is unclear when all of the logs will be removed allowing for the highway to re-open. You will need to continue to avoid the area.

Original story posted at 9am: Angels Camp, CA — There is a traffic hazard involving a logging truck on Highway 49 in Angels Camp near Ramorini Lane.

It is in the vicinity of the turnoff to the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. The CHP reports that the truck lost a large load of logs that have spilled out onto the highway, blocking both directions. You will want to avoid the area. Caltrans has been requested to come and assist with the cleanup.
