Update: Power Outage After Car Hits Pole

Update at 9:15am: The CHP reports that Mountain Ranch Road is open and motorists can travel freely. However, PG&E has pushed the estimated restoration time for the eight customers without electricity to 2pm.

Original story posted at 7:30am: Mountain Ranch, CA — There are eight PG&E customers without power this morning in the community of Mountain Ranch in Calaveras County.

The outage started at around 5:20am and full restoration is anticipated by 9:45am. The CHP reports a silver sedan struck a power pole near the intersection of Mountain Ranch Road and Garabaldi Road. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene. The power lines are reportedly hanging low over the road. Be prepared for activity in the area and travel with caution.
