Burning Permits Suspended Next Week

San Andreas, CA – Come Memorial Day all outdoor landscape burning is suspended, which gives property owners only this holiday weekend to make sure their defensible space is ready for fire season.

CAL Fire will suspend all outdoor residential burning in Zone 1, which is below 3500 feet elevation. That includes all areas within the State Responsibility Area of Tuolumne, Calaveras, Eastern Stanislaus and Eastern San Joaquin counties. CAL Fire points to drought conditions that spiked fire danger in the region along with over 1,283 wildfires that have burned nearly 7,946 acres already in the state as the reasons for implementing the burn ban. The permit suspension takes effect on Monday, May 28th at 8:00 a.m.
