New Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Talks Issues

Sonora, CA — The newly appointed leader of the Stanislaus National Forest will talk about the state of the forest and some of his priorities moving forward.

Jason Kuiken officially stepped into the supervisor position late last month following the departure of Jeanne Higgins who left for a position in Washington, DC. Kuiken was most recently the Deputy Forest Supervisor on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington state. He will speak about why he feels his specific past experience will make him a good fit in the Stanislaus National Forest. Some of the other topics will include the overall state of the forest, tree mortality, fire, recreation, the upcoming forest plan revision, working with local leaders, logging and NEPA.
