Update: Snow Showers In The Forecast

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Mother Lode, the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada, Yosemite National Park and the lower Sierra Nevada of Mariposa County, now until 11 PM tonight (Friday).

Occasional snow showers will continue.

The snow levels are around 1,500 feet this morning, rising to around 3,000 feet later this afternoon.

Additional snow accumulations above the 1,500 foot elevation, will range from one inch to half-a-foot. The higher you go, the more the snow.

Winds may continue to gust as high as sixty mph, on exposed ridgetops and along the crest. Gusty winds and heavy snow could cause tree damage.

Travel could be very difficult with slippery roads and chain controls leading to delays. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
