Traffic Stop Results In Parolee Arrest

Sonora, CA – A Sonora man was arrested after his parole officer issued a hold on him for violating his parole.

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s officials were notified of the hold, and a deputy made a traffic stop recently on North Washington Street in Sonora based on that information. Sheriff’s officials say the deputy believed the driver was the parolee, 46-year-old Stephen Belt.

After questioning Belt, he was arrested without incident. He was taken to the Dambacher Detention Center, where he was booked on the charge of violation of parole and placed on a no bail hold.
