Update: Thursday School And Government Office Delays, Power Outages

Update at 3:15 p.m.: PG&E reports that only a few smaller power outages remain in Tuolumne County, mostly in the Groveland area. The company has not listed an estimated repair time for those still without lights. The utility is blaming the stormy weather for these outages, which are detailed below.

Update at 12:20 p.m.: PG&E is reporting another power outage in Tuolumne County. This one impacts 241 customers in the Twain Harte area on the north side of Highway 108. It began in the ten o’clock hour. The company reports that crews are at the site and working on the problem. Their preliminary finding is that weather was the cause of the outage, but they did not give specifics. Additionally, no estimated restoration time has been given. Update at 7:45 am and below, written by BJ Hansen: Tuolumne County Transit reports that Route One is delayed this morning and will start at 7:51 am at the Sonora Post Office and Route 2 will start at 8:30 am at the Transit Center. Dial a ride may also experience some delays today.

Update at 7:34 am: The Tuolumne County Courthouse will be opening two hours late today, at 10 am. The start of all court cases will be delayed until the court opens.

Original story posted at 6:20 am: Cleanup is underway following Wednesday evening’s snowfall in the region.

Tuolumne County government buildings will be opening three hours late this morning, according to CAO Tracie Riggs. Emergency services are operating normally.

PG&E reports that there are 162 customers without electricity outside of Groveland and continuing up Highway 120 toward Yosemite National Park. The outage started at 11:20 pm and the company reports that it is weather-related. It is unclear when there will be full restoration. There are also some small scattered outages in Jamestown, Forest Meadows and near Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Dry conditions are anticipated today following the precipitation over recent days.
