Ride ‘Em Cowboy!

Sonora, CA — The Mother Lode Roundup Rodeo packed the Mother Lode Fairgrounds and Saturday and the same is expected on this final day of the event.

Calf roping, barrel racing, bronc and bull riding brought plenty of cheers, clapping and stomping from fans in the grandstands. A “Team Bronc Riding” event kicked off the rodeo.(*Highlighted words are video.) One little cowboy looked especially sharp in his all red, white and blue attire, that fetched him the “Best Dressed Mutton Buster.” However, the best mutton ride came from Ryan Lawson of Sonora, who hung on for dear life! There is a lot of fun to be had at the fairgrounds today with a Mother’s Day breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. Day-two kicks into high gear with a kiddie rodeo at 12:30 p.m. and then the grownup riding hits the ring at 2 p.m.
