Missing Snowmobiler Found Deceased

Tuolumne County, CA — There was a sad ending last night in the search for a Tuolumne County man in the Eagle Meadow area.

Missing snowmobiler Charles Duston, who had been last seen on Sunday, was found dead by officials. He was approximately four miles from his snowmobile, in a rugged, snowy area. An autopsy will be conducted, but no foul play is suspected at this time, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office.

The Tuolumne County Search and Rescue Team received support from seven other agencies, including the Air National Guard, Marin County, Bamru SAR, Contra Costa County, Santa Clara County, El Dorado County and Pinecrest Fire. Duston was 67-years old.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement, reading, “We express our deepest sympathies to Charles family and friends during this very difficult time.”
