One Injured In Motorcycle Crash In Calaveras County

Mokelumne Hill, CA – A motorcyclist was ejected from his bike after losing control in the thirteen curves area of Mokelumne Hill.

The wreck happened on Highway 49 around 5:30 p.m. Monday south of the North Fork Mokelumne River. The CHP reports 39-year-old Derek Walker of River Pines was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on the highway south of Big Bar Road at about 30 mph. Walker reportedly leaned into a left hand curve and the rear wheel skidded out from underneath him.  He was ejected from the bike just before it smashed into a guard rail.

Walker suffered moderate injuries.  The CHP reports neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash.
